SAMANTHA FISH Chills & Fever (Ruf Records)

I really enjoyed the fine blues-rock of 2015s Wild Heart, which showed that Samantha Fish had a feel for the blues, and the requisite smokey vocals and guitar chops to deliver. For this album the emphasis is more on rnb than blues, and Im not sure if the addition of a horn section and girly backing vocals enhances the songs or not. Its not a bad album, but I wouldnt say its representative of her best work.
